User Groups
This section shows a list of user groups in PlatformManager (if you have the corresponding global permission assigned). There are some predefined system groups or you can create your own.Â
These are global groups; if you want to use them with a particular account, you need to create a group on the account level.Â
The following actions are available for user groups:
Create Group – Allows you to create a new user group. You have an option to create an AD Managed group: it is connected to a selected Pricefx Active Directory group and synchronizes with it. (Note that existing PlatformManager user groups can also be set as AD managed.) In PlatformManager you cannot add/remove users to/from AD managed groups.
Sync with AD – Allows the admins to synchronize with Pricefx Active Directory. If there is a user in an AD managed group but not in PlatformManager, this user is automatically created. (This synchronization also happens automatically at night or if a new AD managed group is created/edited and saved.)Â
Export CSV – Allows you to download the list of groups in the CSV format.
For each group, you can assign users to it and decide on the account/global permissions. Assigning permissions to user groups works similarly as for individual users.
Permissions – Allow user groups to perform operations for selected accounts or their partitions/integrations.Â
Global permissions – Allow user groups to perform admin operations (such as manage users, templates, global alerts) and provide access to the Overview sections (Accounts, Nodes, Servers, Partitions etc.).
See the full list of permissions.Â
