Simulations in Price Setting
Simulations in Price Setting allow you to test different conditions or changes in Price Lists or Live Price Grids. Once you determine a Price List or Live Price Grid that the Simulation is based on, you can use new input data (from Company Parameters) or a completely new calculation logic. The Simulation will show you the difference between the old results and the new, simulated ones.
Simulations work in a similar way like Price List revisions. The difference is that you do not have to activate a new logic or new parameters immediately but you can preview the result first and make the decision later.
Company Parameters and calculation logics both can have the following states: Active, Inactive and Simulation Only. Simulations work with Active and Simulation Only elements and the Active ones are always used with a higher priority.
Once the Simulation is calculated, you can decide to make the result active and convert the Simulation to a Price List, i.e. activate a new Price List, using a new calculation logic and/or Company Parameters. This functionality is not available for LPG simulations.
When you delete a Simulation, the delete operation does not immediately remove all the line items and metadata associated with the Simulation. A background job is run to wipe all these items and the whole process can take up to an hour.
