How to Create a Quote
In a Quote, you calculate a specific price (offer price) for one or more products based on the current pricing methodology (calculation logic). The price calculation may require entering further pricing input parameters (e.g., quantity, customer, region).
Before you start creating Quotes, you must have at least the following components ready:Â
Product and customer master in Master Data.
Transactional data (Datamart) in Analytics.
Calculation logic – Logic where you define calculation of line items and of Price Records.
Typically, also a workflow for Quote approval.
To create a Quote:
Go to Quoting > Quotes.
Click the New Quote button. If there are Quote Types defined, select one from the list.
The Quote is automatically saved when it is created.Enter the basic Quote information on the Header tab. The required minimum is the effective and expiry date.
Add products on the Items tab. You can make the selection using a filter, text import or by manually selecting individual products.
Still on the Items tab, enter the required inputs (defined in your calculation logic). Check the calculation results on the right-hand side.
Save the Quote. Pricefx can be configured to either save the Quote automatically each time it is changed or leave it up to the users to save the Quote only when they are happy with the changes.
If required, submit your new Quote for approval.
(Optional) Add the Quote to one of the folders in the Categories tree by selecting the Quote from the list and using the Move to button.
(Optional) If you want to archive your Quote, you can export it to XLSX, DOCX or PDF.
