Product References

The Product References table allows you to capture relationships among products and link them together. The established relationships can help you price the related products better.

Here you create pairs of products and define how they relate. For example, Product A is a parent of Product AA or Product C is defined as the cross sell product for Product D.

Fields to work with:

  • Product ID – Identifies the product for which you want to create a reference.

  • Ref. Part-Id – Identifies the referenced product.

  • Reference Type – Identifies the relationship between the two products. This is a free text field, so that you can define your own references as needed. This field can also be left empty if you do not need to distinguish more reference types and the relationship is known by the project team.

  • Internal Reference – This field is not used by the application as such; but you can give it your own meaning and use it to mark the references of your choice.

You can use the defined references at other places in the application. There is a special function, XRefLookup, which supports searching in Product References.

The available options are:

  • Add a product reference. You have to enter the ProductID and the Ref. Part-ID, all other data are optional.

  • Duplicate the selected item.

  • Edit the selected item.

  • Mass edit all, filtered or selected fields. A new pop-up window will open. Select the Attribute, Change (operator) and enter a new Value. Click the Edit button to confirm the changes.

  • Delete an item. The item will be deleted immediately.

  • Mass delete all, filtered or selected items.

  • Download the data into MS Excel.

  • Advanced filter to narrow down the data (for details see Filtering).
