Create a Live Price Grid

Live Price Grids (LPG) must be created to handle large amount of products prices that must be recalculated on a regular basis. For example, for e-commerce business cases that need to be calculated frequently on competitor prices, currency changes, etc.

In this section, you will learn how to effectively create an LPG in Pricefx. Follow the steps and make sure to check out the screenshots to see where you are.

How To Create a Live Price Grid

  1. Review available LPG types to select the right template. Simply navigate to the main menu, select the Price Setting folder, and click on Price Setting Types.

  2. The system displays available templates for creating Live Price Grids. Note that some templates include Header, Pricing, and Matrix logics. The Type column defines which Live Price Grid type is assigned to each template with the logic as the algorithm used for calculations. These templates speed up the creation of your Live Price Grids.

Price Setting Types

 

  1. Return to the main menu and choose the Live Price Grid option within the Price Setting folder. You will then view a list of existing Live Price Grids. On the left side, there is a Categories area with folders to help organize your Live Price Grids as needed.

  1. Locate the New Price Grid dropdown button in the top-right corner.  This displays all the available templates. You can select any that suits your requirements.

 

 

  1. The system will open a new window to Define your LPG. Mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are essential for executing calculations.  

 

 

  1. Specify the Type of grid (Simple/Matrix) you are creating, provide a Name, Target Date to activate calculations, set permissions to view and edit it and the option to copy it from a reference.

  2. Click on the Continue to Products button.

  3. In the next Select Products step use check boxes for individual product selection, filter products using the column search field area or the Advanced Filter icon on the top-right corner for specific fields. You can filter and add products and product groups to the LPG. You can also select all products by clicking the main checkbox in the Product ID column.

 

 

  1. Click on the Select Filter icon at the bottom-right corner (if you make any selections). The system provides function icons to select all products. To skip the step, go back to the previous Definition step, or cancel the LPG creation).

  2. In the next Set Parameters step, choose the LPG parameters. This area contains different options to allow LPG maintenance and calculation.

  1. Enter/select the required options, including the Result Price field which will contain the final calculated price. Note that if you select the Dynamic Item Mode option, you must create a corresponding filter.

  2. Under the Output Elements section on the right-side, select the fields (columns) to be displayed in the LPG. Under the Default Fields section, the system automatically displays a list of default fields.

  1. Click on the Save button at the bottom corner. The system will display a confirmation message with your new LPG created.

  2. In the main LPG list window, locate/select your newly created LPG.

  3. Click on the Calculate button at the bottom of the window. The system will start the calculation and your LPG will change its status from Draft > Pending > Processing > Ready.

  1. Use the Refresh button to check that the Ready status is displayed.

  1. Click on your new LPG to review the results.
