How to Create Materialized Rollups

Rollups are persisted Analytics queries – but only queries. If you would like to have a materialized view of your rollup for performance improvement reasons, you can create them on the Templates tab of Data Sources.

To materialize a Rollup:

1. Go to Data Sources > Templates tab. Rollups are available here as templates.

2. Select a template and click the Data Source button on the top bar. A new Data Source is created.

3. Deploy the new Data Source.

When such a Data Source is created and deployed, an 'Internal Copy' Data Load is created. When this Data Load is run, the Data Source is populated from the Rollup query (truncate and load). As with all Data Loads, materialization can also be run as a scheduled task.
