Strategy Designer-Cost+ Absolute (User Story)

The core deployment of the Strategy Designer capability will come with a series of pre-defined pricing strategies, and one of these is Cost+ Absolute. This pre-defined strategy can be used “as is” or it can be modified to your application’s specific needs.

On the initial starting page for Strategy Designer, the defined strategies will appear:

When we select any of these, we can then view the strategy components in the viewing panel:

Modification Via Copy

If we need to modify a strategy and save under a new name, we can use the Duplicate function:

This will generate a copy of our existing strategy, new name will be seen as Copy of [strategy-name]:

Modification by Replacing Component

Each of our pricing strategies is comprised of one or more visual components. For example, in the Cost+ Absolute strategy we can see it is composed of Product Cost and Cost Plus Absolute Adjustment:

Either of these can be replaced by disconnecting them from the formula by simply dragging them away:

We can then replace it with another variable using the Parameters option:

The parameters displayed here will be specific data values extracted from pricing parameter tables. This will include core out-of-the-box set (shown in example above) plus any additional created within your application.

Modification by Adding Logic

Any of our pricing strategies can be modified through the addition of logic operands, the standard set can be viewed when we click on the Logic option:

Any of these logical operations can be added to our pricing strategy by simply dragging and dropping them into the view panel, and then connecting to our formula.
