Build New Excel Template

Build New Excel Template

This example uses a Quote as a sample document for export. It shows you how to build a template based on the Pricefx built-in capability to export XLSX files even without a custom template. This way you do not have to create the Excel template from scratch.

  1. Navigate to a list of Quotes, select one, and download it as an Excel file using the Export Excel button below the table.

  2. Examine the Excel file – it has the "Data" sheet (line details of the Quote), "Header" sheet (details of the Quote Header) and possibly other sheets too.

  3. Create a new sheet with some fancy graphics where you leverage the data from the "Data" and "Header" sheets (using Excel formulas to access the data from the sheets with data). For inspiration see the attached Excel example.

Note: The preprocessing logic cannot be applied to Excel templates. Preprocessing logic can only be applied to Word/PDF documents – see Word Publishing Template Preprocessing Logic. Excel templates use only the raw exported data from the UI (no logic layer is involved).

  1. When your template is ready, refer back to the sequence of required steps.
