Detailed Time Series Chart

The Detailed Time Series chart is similar to the Time Series Chart.

The main difference is:

  • The scale. The Detailed Time Series chart displays continuous time on the X-axis. Values can be displayed per as little as one second, therefore price changes during a day, hour etc. can be shown, which is handy for example for e-commerce. The Time Series chart, can display values only per day at the minimum, so it is more suitable for B2B implementations.

Other differences are:

  • There are two additional types which you can use for this chart: Area and Area Spline.

  • You cannot have embedded Boxplot charts here.

  • The Comparison combo-box works similarly as in the Bar & Line chart. However, as the X axis is a timeline, data displayed in the chart will be always grouped on this axis. The Comparison option's value None means only that the series data will be displayed on separate data tabs.
As per the Legacy Comparison Mode explanation for the Time Series chart, comparing series in this way may lead to misalignment of dates. It should only be used if all series return 'time period gapless' data series.
