Internationalization
In the Internationalization section you can rename or translate all user interface labels within each individual partition (i.e., rename the label 'product master' into 'service master'). With that the Pricefx look and feel can be completely adjusted to the needs and requirements of an individual customer without the necessity of any application customization.
To change the labels:
Go to Administration > Configuration >Â Internationalization.
Select where you want to make the changes by switching to the correct tab at the top:
Partition-wide – Changes are visible for all users who do not have the Edit Localization role assigned.
Private – Changes are visible only to users with the Edit Localization role. This allows you to test the localization without impacting the regular users.
You can later copy all your changes (to the system keys and added custom keys) between the private and partition-wide tabs using the Clone to Private and Clone to Partition-wide buttons.
Enter a new text into the corresponding fields of the User Override column.
Optionally, click the New button to add custom translation keys. Custom keys can be used to translate UI labels – use the custom key as a label of the object.
The changes you make are saved automatically. If you want to discard all overrides in the current tab (Partition-wide or Private), click the Reset button at the top of the page. You can also reset individual lines by selecting them and clicking the Reset button at the bottom of the table.
You must reload the application to see your changes take effect.
Edit Translation Keys in Excel
If you prefer to make your edits in Excel, follow these steps:
Click the Export button to obtain the XLSX file with all localization strings (including custom keys).
Enter new labels to override the existing ones. You must put the new labels in the third column, next to the current label.
Do not add or remove lines in the Excel file.Upload the file using the Import button.
How to Create Translation Keys for Multiple Languages
If you want to have translated labels for multiple languages, you can do it with the help of URL parameters:
Load the Internationalization page with URL parameters specifying the desired language, for exampleÂ
?locale=fr&uiLanguage=fr
for French.Add and save your translations.
Log in again to the UI using the parametersÂ
?locale=fr&uiLanguage=fr
.
The labels will be displayed in French translation.
This way you can translate labels for several languages.
Â
Whenever there are Value Overrides on both the Private and Partition-wide tabs, users with the Edit Localization role will always see in the UI the "private" changes (and not the partition changes). This is because the Private tab edits are displayed to these localization admins by default. Only after all edits on the Private tab are reset, localization admins can see the Partition-wide tab edits (which regular users see too).
You can also add translated labels of columns in the Rename and Customize Columns option or labels of elements in the calculation logic editor.
You can translate Datamart field labels.
See also in which languages the application UI is localized.
