Who can take this course:

  • Certified Pricefx Configuration Engineers that successfully passed this certification in the past 4 years .

    • no need for the initial proctored quiz

  • Configuration Engineers with 1.5+ years of active experience in this role or proven track record of solution architect equivalent role in other software.

    • provided they pass the initial proctored quiz

  • Configuration Engineers who have successfully implemented at least 2 Pricefx capabilities.  -

    • provided they pass the initial proctored quiz

How is the course organised

  • Before accessing the training, you must pass a proctored test and interview (one session).

  • It is a structured path combining self-study, hands-on experience and instructor-led refinement sessions.

  • It takes ~ 8 weeks and includes 4 refinement/QA calls with an instructor to ensure comprehension and success. The weekly time commitment is around 15 10 hours.

  • The certified status is acquired when the final project is successfully accomplished.

  • It is a paid course (check the fee with your Pfx contact). Your company will be billed once you start the course.

Program Description

  • Solution Architect learning path: A comprehensive program aimed at transforming experienced Configuration Engineers into Solution Architects.

  • Self-study & instructor-led refinement sessions: A combination of self-paced learning and instructor-guided refinement/QA calls (4 total during the training).

  • Main pillars of SA knowledge: Focused on core concepts and essential skills that SAs need to excel.

  • Hands-on extensive project: Each student will be involved in a significant project that helps them apply their learning to real-world scenarios.

  • CE experience mandatory: This program is designed specifically for experienced CEs who are looking to move into the SA role.

  • Pre-requisites: CE Certification or 1 year of CE experience.

The training covers the following topics essential to becoming a Solution Architect:

  1. CE Verification Test

    • Ensures foundational Configuration Engineering knowledge is intact before advancing.

    • Will be done before you get access to the training.

  2. SA Introduction

    • Overview of the SA role, responsibilities, and critical thinking involved.

  3. Advanced CE (optional)

    • For those who want to refresh their Configuration Engineering knowledge before diving deeper into the SA role.

  4. Business Analyst Basics

    • Understanding how to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.

  5. Data Readiness

    • Preparing and structuring data for architectural solutions.

  6. Product Knowledge

    • Comprehensive coverage of Pricefx products. SAs need only focus on the product areas relevant to their role.

  7. Standard SA Role Activities

    • Overview of daily activities and responsibilities of a Solution Architect.

  8. Prescriptive Delivery

    • Best practices and methodologies for delivering solutions efficiently and effectively.

  9. Final Task

    • Capstone project that brings together all aspects of the training.

Final Task Requirements

To successfully complete the program, each participant must complete the following final task elements:

  1. End-to-End Process Diagram

    • Create a diagram that describes an end-to-end process based on the gathered requirements.

  2. Interface Definition File

    • Develop an Interface Definition File based on a DRM template, used to map data into Pricefx.

  3. User Stories & Acceptance Criteria

    • Write a set of user stories and accompanying acceptance criteria to define project requirements.

  4. Refinement Sessions

    1. Schedule refinement sessions with the instructor which will simulate real refinement sessions. Here you will work out details of your project and confirm you are on the correct path.

  5. Final Project Defense

    • Present the final project and defend the solution in a refinement session with instructors.

Post-Training Steps

Once the training is completed, the following activities are recommended for further growth and development:

  1. SA Certification

    • Certification is the next step after training, signifying a student’s readiness for the SA role.

  2. Shadowing

    • Gain further insights by shadowing an experienced Solution Architect on real projects.

  3. Project Experience

    • Take on Solution Architect responsibilities in live projects to solidify the learning experience.

Additional Information

  • Duration: 4-8 weeks, depending on individual progress and scheduling.
