Users

This section shows a list of all users registered in PlatformManager and allows you to manage their accounts (if you have the corresponding global permission assigned).

There are the following options:

  • Add a new user – See How to Add User.

  • Set permissions – See How to Assign Permissions Centrally in Administration.

  • Set global permissions which allow you to perform admin operations (such as manage users, templates, global alerts) and provide access to the Overview sections (Accounts, Nodes, Servers, Partitions etc.). See their list.

  • Edit user account – In the Users table open the row menu of a user and select Edit. You can change here Users' info (except for a username) and Group assignment. This option is not available for user accounts in the Invited status.

  • SSO Username – Allows admins to enter an SSO username for the given user. Users can modify this value themselves in Profile Settings. Changes in the username value are recorded in the log (in the context field). For more details see Single Sign-On.

  • Resend Activation Email – Allows admins to send another email to users who have been invited to PlatformManager but have not activated their account yet. This option is available only for user accounts in the Invited status.

  • Reset password – If the user needs a new password, only an administrator can trigger the password reset procedure. After you select the Reset password option in the row menu, the user will receive an email with a link where they can reset the password. This option is not available for user accounts in the Invited status.

  • Delete user from PlatformManager.

    • See also what rules apply when deleting users who are involved in approval workflow.

    • What happens in the background: Deleted users are deactivated and their permissions are saved. The workflows in which they were included are also saved. If the user is activated again, the permissions and workflows are restored. The user who did the reactivation is informed by email about the workflows in which the reactivated user was involved.

    • Note that users also get deleted after they are assigned the No longer with company flag in Salesfx.

  • Reactivate user – When you create a new user account and enter a username which already exists in the database (as non-active user account), PlatformManager informs you about it, pre-fills the stored user data and lets you activate the account again. The user is notified by email about the account activation.

  • Export users – Using the Export CSV button at top right you can also download the list of users in the CSV format.
