In case you are hiring new QAs to your team, here are tips for requirements you should consider:

  • Mandatory requirements:

    • Real experience with testing on IT projects (2-3 years should be enough)

    • Ability to be independent on the project

    • Experience with testing during development phase and during UAT

    • Experience with pricing - typically it is not necessary as we have a training available

    • Ability to communicate effectively with project team and with customer

    • Experience with a test management tool - creating test cases, reporting testing progress and bugs, creating final test report, importing and exporting of test cases

    • Ability to learn new things quickly

    • Knowledge of standard sw testing terminology and methodology

  • Optional requirements:

    • Test automation (you should prefer your test automation tool, but any experience can be a big benefit)

    • Performance testing

    • API testing

    • Software testing certification (like ISTQB)

    • Experience with leading a group of testers

 

And here are tips for onboarding of newly hired QAs or new QAs on Pricefx projects:

Onboarding:

  • Training portal (https://trainingportal.pricefx.com/ )

    • Quality Assurance Learning Path - Entry level - this training should be mandatory for all QAs, it is free of charge for Partners and internal Pfx. Note that this certification is covering also basic info about Pricing and Price fx sw.

    • Product Knowledge trainings

    • Other trainings based on your interest

  • Study a good sw testing training (for example “TestingEducation“ on YouTube)

  • Work on project with support of more experienced QA Analyst

  • Work on project as main QA Analyst
