About the Exam

Here you can find all information that is needed for preparing for the Pricefx Certification for Integration Engineer. This page provides important exam instructions and guidelines. Please review the entire page before proceeding to exam registration.

Exam Format

This overview aims to clarify the requirements for the Integration Engineering certification. Your ability to configure data tables, proficiently use the Integration Manager, and manage GitLab projects will be thoroughly assessed. This ensures you possess the necessary knowledge to work effectively within the Pricefx environment.

Integration Engineer Certification

The Integration Engineering exam encompasses three primary areas:

  1. Data Integration and Table Setup

    • Objective: Configure tables in Pricefx to accept data imported via FTP from CSV files.

    • Task: Create Routes using Integration Manager (IM) to import this data into Pricefx.

    • Requirements:

      • Structure the field definitions on the Pricefx side as needed.

      • Create Product Extension, Customer Extension, and Company Parameter tables within the Partition to accommodate the incoming data.

      • Provide both inbound and outbound Routes for the data.

    • Skills Assessed:

      • Demonstrate the ability to create Routes for Master Data tables, Master Extension tables, and Company Parameter tables.

      • Utilize Unity to create Extension tables, adjust field definitions, and configure Company Parameter tables.

      • Understand and execute the necessary Unity steps to manage Pricefx data tables.

  2. Integration Manager Proficiency

    • Objective: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Integration Manager interface.

    • Task: Show proficiency in using the Overview tab, Routes tab, Mapper tab, and other components of IM.

    • Requirements:

      • Create new Integration Manager instances.

      • Set up Notifications within IM.

    • Skills Assessed:

      • Thorough understanding of all parts of the IM interface.

      • Ability to configure and manage IM instances and Notifications.

  3. GitLab Project Management and Configuration

    • Objective: Demonstrate the ability to manage and configure a GitLab project using IntelliJ.

    • Task: Pull the GitLab project to your local machine, ensure correct branch usage (Dev, QA, Prod), and modify specific files.

    • Requirements:

      • Modify files to render encrypted passwords as non-encrypted.

      • Explain the necessary changes to the Maven settings.xml file to enable project compilation.

    • Skills Assessed:

      • Basic understanding of GitLab project management.

      • Ability to instruct a Java Developer familiar with Apache Camel on the required modifications for the project.

      • Knowledge of the Pricefx environment to facilitate project compilation.

Note: For requirement #3, it is assumed that you are not a Java developer or familiar with Apache Camel. The expectation is that you can guide a qualified developer on how to pull the project, identify the files to modify for password issues, and explain the necessary changes to the Maven settings.xml file. This demonstrates a fundamental understanding of the Pricefx environment.
