Strategy Designer-Cost Plus Percentage Adjustment (User Story)

In this narrative, we will demonstrate how to create a new pricing strategy (Cost+ Percentage) in Strategy Designer, test the strategy, assign it to a product group and deploy it into our partition. We will be following this sequence of events:

Select a Strategy

Our first step will be to select our strategy from our list of available strategies or choose the empty strategy option to develop one completely from scratch. Once we choose our strategy option, then we will provide a meaningful name (ie. Cost+ Percent Adjust).

Create Pricing Calculation

Next step will be the development of the pricing calculation using a combination of product attributes, parameters, data lookups, logics and Math & Value options. For example, if we were using a product cost and then multiply it by some adjustment factor it might be done like this:

Choose Product Cost

Select the Product Cost attribute from our list of Parameters:

We then will drag and drop the selected attribute to the calculation panel.

Cost Plus Adjustment

Next, we would need to select our adjustment factor from our list of Parameters and connect it to our pricing strategy formula. Our evolving formula would appear as:

We can test our pricing strategy by using the Live Preview capability. By selecting a product and the dependency level we can generate our results:
