This allows you to configure different company dashboards to suit your own requirements and to save them for future use.

This is all accessed from Dashboard Settings, which you access on the menu, under Dashboards.

How To:

Customize a Dashboard Layout

All our how-to guides and video tutorials contain screenshot of our demo system and the information that you see will differ depending on your organizational configuration and the version of Pricefx software that you are running.

In this how-to guide you'll be exploring the Save Preferences feature in Dashboards. This allows you to configure different company dashboards to suit your own requirements and to save them for future use.

Preferences

In Paper Plane 11.0 you can now have just one single reference globally for all the portlets.

For example, if you want to change your ToDo portlet for My Actions, you can easily add the portlet and save it to your existing or new preference. This will save the position of all portlets and state of all columns, whether they are visible or not.

  1. Select and add portlet

  2. Drag portlet to size and place

  3. Save preference (as new or existing)

With everything merged into one single preference, you can now customize your view faster and with fewer clicks.

Selecting a Dashboard

You're starting in the Dashboard Settings, which you access on the menu, under Dashboards option.

Select the Dashboard you would like to open. For this example, select the Sales Insight Revenue Breakdown. Let's open it.

Here you can see the default Dashboard as it's been configured and you want to make some changes to suit your own workflow needs.

Adding Portlets to the Dashboard

So you can use the Add Portlet button on the top-right cornet to add more portlets. Review the list of portlets available and select those you wish to add. In our example we’re adding a couple of the system ones, a list of price grids and list of quotes.

Changing Individual Portlets

In another portlet you may want to change the number of columns displayed, so click on the Settings button and Select Fields to Display.

Define just a few fields by clicking on their check-boxes. First unselect all the fields by clicking on the Columns check box, then select the ones you want to be displayed. Click on the Apply button.

Now you can see displayed only the fields you previously selected.

Again you can save it to this current preference or as a new preference.

Save as New Preference

Once you have the portlets you’d like to see and have positioned and resized them to your satisfaction, you can save this as a New Preference so that this becomes your default view.

You must click on the Settings button and click Save as New Preference option.

Provide a new name and then decide decide your viewing preferences.

If you have the access rights you can make it visible to everyone in this partition, you can also make it default so it loads automatically when you open this dashboard.

Click on the Apply button.

The preferences are saved.
