With the Paper Plane release includes an improvement in mass updates! We understand that running mass updates for quotes or contracts can be challenging, especially when you have a global user base with different time zones.

Overview

One common issue we needed to address was that with a user base that is in different time zones, when mass updates are run, it happened that users were editing quotes or working in a quote and as such the draft was included and it affected the approved state of other quotes due to the way updates work. This caused some confusion and problems for our customers.

Lock Quotes

To address this, we've added some new features to help you out. When you run a mass update, you can now choose a simple template that will update your quotes with a sleep timer. You don't need to specify any input changes - it's that easy! Once you've selected your template and executed the mass update, you'll see that the quotes included in the run are now in read-only state. This means that any inputs or changes are locked, so you can't accidentally make any changes to them. For this example we will choose a specific template: Lock Quotes and we will ping a selected quote for the demo:

Under Parameters you will see the quote and now you can go ahead and execute the Mass Update.

In the next step you must be ready to wait a while until the action is executed. You will be able to track progress through the status report which will shift from pending to processing.

Read-Only Mode

Now let’s go back to the quote.

You will see that right now, the quote is in ready only mode meaning that you can do a limited amount of things inside it and that inputs are blocked.

When the quote is locked and in read only mode, you essentially avoid making mistakes or updates where they are not necessary.
