How to Set Data Entitlement
For every Data Source you can define entitlement – i.e., limit the accessibility of data for different user groups based on Data Source attributes.
To set up data entitlement:Â
Go to Analytics > Data Manager > Data Sources > Data Entitlements tab.
Click the Add button.
Select a user group.
Using an advanced filter condition, define which part of data the group has access to.
The following behavior applies:
If you are a member of multiple groups and each of those groups has a filter set on the same Data Source, you will have access to the combined rows of the two filters.
If you look at a Datamart which is based on two Data Sources that have filters affecting you, you will only see data for which all filters allow access, i.e., the intersection of the groups of rows.
When querying Datamart whose data come from a Data Source with some entitlement, it is taken into account. The query result will be filtered, so that users see only data they are entitled to see.
If any entitlements are defined for a Data Source, users with no appropriate group cannot see anything.
Entitlement with an empty filter is like a wildcard – it provides a full data access in the Data Source.
The user roles 'Administer Schemas' and 'Manage Simulations' can see all data.
