Limitations

While the Pricefx Copilot aims to enhance pricing strategies through advanced analytics and decision-making support, it is not without its limitations. This section explores the current constraints of the Pricefx Copilot, examining how they impact user experience and functionality as the software continues to develop and improve.

Large Data Volumes

In the event of an excessively long time range or an overwhelming volume of transactional data available for a specified period, the Pricefx Copilot may time out and provide the following response: Sorry, I was not able to process your query. Can you try again?
To mitigate this issue, the user is advised to narrow the data scope by applying filters or reducing the time range. Additionally, utilizing a single portlet with the Explore button can significantly decrease the amount of data processed.

Explore Prompt

After clicking the Explore button, the Pricefx Copilot consistently responds with the prompt Explore <name of the element>. The name of the element varies. It is determined by the user's selection of a specific Dashboard or Portlet. Notably, the Pricefx Copilot may produce different responses when the same Explore button is clicked within the same context, which reflects the inherent variability of the large language model (LLM).

Manual Prompting

The Pricefx Copilot provides a straightforward text input/output chat experience. The user prompt does not apply any formatting, and attachments such as images or PDF documents, as well as voice input, are not supported. Furthermore, there is no limit on the character length for text input. However, the system does not accommodate malicious or unethical questions. For more information see Professional Response Filtering.

Limited Data Scope

The Pricefx Copilot operates solely with data retrieved from the Dashboard or Portlet. It does not utilize any other data sources unless the user manually adjusts the filters or inputs to modify the data scope. For instance, changing the value in the Time Filter (e.g., YTD, L12M) can extend or reduce the data set.

Users should be aware that this limitation means the Pricefx Copilot may provide inaccurate information, as it cannot expand its data sources autonomously in the current version. As a result, it may generate responses based on assumptions (hallucinate) to provide some level of assistance, which could lead to potential inaccuracies.

Use of Knowledge Base not Supported

The Pricefx Copilot utilizes a general understanding based on the large language model (LLM), along with limited business context from each Dashboard and Portlet. It does not use the Pricefx Documentation or the Knowledge Base to generate responses or recommend specific actions.

Supported Live Price Grid Type

Currently only the SIMPLE Live Price Grid Type is supported. For more information about Live Price Grid type see Price Setting Types.

Entering ID or Name

When entering a specific value for the Product, Customer, or Live Price Grid, it is important to use either the ID or the Name exclusively, and not to combine the two. Additionally, it is highly recommended to enclose these values in apostrophes (') or quotation marks (").
