How to Edit a Simulation

To edit a simulation, there are the following options:

Manual Override

You can edit a new or existing simulation by doing the following:

  1. Click a simulation in the list to open it.

  2. Check the simulated price and, if needed, override it in the Manual Override column. Also, values that have the attribute 'Allow override' set in the calculation logic can be changed manually. The values will then be calculated again. All changes are saved automatically.
Alternatively, click Edit to update all overridable fields in one dialog. Click Edit in the dialog to save the changes.

Add Calculated Column

You can add a new column and calculate its values using the values of the existing columns.

  1. Click a simulation in the list to display its details.

  2. Select an item and click Formula Editor.

  3. Define the formula. The dialog displays all the fields available for your calculation and the result of the formula for the first line item. Click Need help? in the editor for the list of supported functions.

Note that the new columns are created only on the client side, which means you cannot sort, group or filter by them and they will not appear in an Excel download, Excel Client or any other integration request (JSON API).

Company Parameters Change

You can change the Company Parameters for the simulation. Go to the Company Parameters page and then do the following:

  1. Select a Company Parameter and click the Copy button.

  2. Change the new Company Parameter's status from 'Inactive' to 'Simulation Only'.

  3. Optionally define a Simulation Set (e.g., "Best Case").

  4. Change the required values of the Company Parameter.

  5. Repeat until all the Company Parameters to be used in the simulation have been changed.

Calculation Logic Change

You can define a specific calculation logic for the simulation.

  1. Select the calculation logic you want to use for the simulation.

  2. Copy the selected calculation logic by clicking the Duplicate button.

  3. Change the status of the calculation logic from 'Inactive' to 'Simulation Only'.

  4. Optionally define a Simulation Set (e.g., "Best Case").

  5. Change the required values of the calculation logic.

The simulation will use all Company Parameters and price logics with the status 'Active' for which no equivalent with status 'Simulation Only' can be found.
