Live Price Grid Detail

To open a Live Price Grid detail, click its ID or Label. The LPG detail table lists all products that the LPG contains.

The layout of the Live Price Grid can be changed – for details see Customize Columns. Additionally, you can rename all price-related columns (e.g., Previous Price, Active Price, etc.); changed names of other columns will not be saved.

When no product is selected, the available options include:

  • Add products to the LPG.

  • Mass actions – In the Mass Actions dialog, you can perform various actions (edit, delete, submit, withdraw, approve, deny, calculate or a custom action) for all records at once or for a set of records defined by a filter with the possibility to add a comment. A counter indicates to how many items the action will be applied.

It is not recommended to use mass actions involving approval workflow for large LPGs (tens of thousands of items). It is extremely time consuming, especially when group approval is used.

However, even for smaller LPGs this is not recommended. The design idea for LPG is to use auto-approval (or single step manual approval which does not generate the workflow overhead) for the majority (90% or more) of items. Having approval on each item (or the majority) is an anti-pattern.

An alternative procedure be converting LPG to a Price List which can be approved as a single unit.

When you select a product, additional buttons appear below the table:

  • Formula Editor – You can add a new custom column and calculate its values using the values of the existing columns. The dialog displays all the fields available for your calculation and the result of the formula for the first line item. Click Need help? in the editor for the list of supported functions. Note that the new columns are created only on the client side, which means you cannot sort or filter by them and they will not appear in an Excel download, Excel Client or any other integration request (JSON API).
For example "ARCP + 11", to edit/view the formula right click the field heading and you get a drop-down menu where you can add a new formula (if never added) or edit an existing formula on that field.

  • Click the Product Detail button on the bottom bar to see the complete product's details.

  • Calculation Detail – see the subsection below.

  • Delete one or multiple selected items (using the Delete button below the table) or mass delete all or filtered items (using the Mass Delete button above the table).

  • Edit all the manually overridable fields in one dialog.

  • Calculate – Recalculates the result price for the product.

  • Submit / Approve / Deny the selected item. You can also use icons available at the end of the product row.

  • View Workflow – Opens a window with an overview of the product's workflow.

Price Calculation Results

  • The column Result Price contains the newly calculated price. The column Active Price contains the latest approved price.

  • Result Price can be changed by entering a value in the Manual Override column. Manual price override can also be done in the Excel Client.

  • When a line (product) is approved, the value of Result Price becomes Active Price. The old value of Active Price becomes Previous Price.

  • To calculate a new result price, select a product (line) and click the Calculate button. The calculation status is displayed in the header. Click the status to open a calculation job tracking dialog with details about the currently running and previous calculations.

  • To see details of the Calculation Results for an item, click the Calculation Results  icon in the product's row or the Calculation Detail button on the bottom bar. A dialog with three columns opens:

    • Calculation Results – Results of the last calculation.

    • Calculation Results (Active) – Currently approved calculation results for the item.

    • Calculation Results (Previous) – Previously approved calculation result for the item.
