Integration Engineer Role (QuickStart)

Digital Transformation

Digital transformation is defined as the transformation and disruption of business and organizational events, processes, competencies, and models to fully embrace the changes and opportunities from a mix of digital technologies. The inclusion of these digital technologies (like Pricefx dynamic pricing applications) and their accelerating impact across businesses in a strategic and prioritized way, represent a path forward for enterprises to gain a competitive advantage.

The digital transformation occurs at varying speeds and there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach that Pricefx can use for every customer. Each of our customers has its own IT legacy systems and processes and will have different levels of data maturity.

To take advantage of digital transformation techniques we will need to know what enterprise systems contain the data needed to drive the pricing application.

IE and Digital Transformation

The main task of the Integration Engineer is to develop and maintain an efficient inbound and outbound data migration in support of the Pricefx solution. This includes the coordination, planning, and implementation of software integrations both internally using IntegrationManager and via third-party applications.

The Integration Engineer also helps with the completion of all automated integration flows and supports various stakeholders with regard to their system integration needs. The requirements related to data migration are developed during the Data Readiness phase of the project which performs the following:

  • Identification, which identifies the source systems for necessary data and defines their ownership

  • Quality, assesses the adherence of the customer's data per Pricefx data quality standards. Generates recommendations for quality corrections.

  • Availability, determines the availability of the customer’s data, identifies dependencies and mitigates the risk of delivery.

Besides the main tasks of an Integration Engineer, there are many other routine duties that apply:

  • They have the responsibility for gap analysis and assessment of certain system structures

  • Review of the Pricefx data models to visualize the integrations

  • Provide the means for system integration taking into consideration the different types of source structures

  • They develop and implement their own custom code integration solutions

  • They develop data strategies and data architecture documentation to support customer understanding
