Steps:

  1. Go to Analytics > Data Analyzer > Time Series Scatter
  2. Enter the name of the data series in the Label field.
  3. Choose the data source from the Datamart drop-down list. If there is only one Datamart defined, this one will already be selected.

  4. (Optional) Enter a Currency. If not specified, the currency that has been selected as default when setting up the system will be used.

  5. You can set up the Generic filter (all dimensions, dates and values):
    1. Click the Create filter link, a new window will open.
    2. Specify the filter criteria. All fields defined in the Schema Editor can be used. Click OK to activate the filter.
(To deactivate the filter, click Edit filter and Reset. This deletes all filter criteria.)
(warning) Click the Refresh  icon at the bottom left on the Data Rows tab to activate the filter after any changes to the filter criteria.
  6. Set up filtering on master data if needed:
    • Product filter allows you to filter by all attributes from the product master data.
    • Customer filter allows you to filter by all attributes from the customer master data. Only the filtered data will be used in the analysis.

  7. You can set up a Dim filter:
    1. Select the filter dimension from the drop-down list.
    2. Click the Add  icon to add the filter. You can add up to twelve Dim filters.
  8. Define the X Axis and Y Axis:
    1. Select the time period (intervals) for the axis X from the drop-down list.
    2. Select the appropriate measurement for the axis Y from the drop-down list.
    3. Specify the value for the axis X and axis Y. The value can be defined as the total amount, per unit , percentage of the base value, contribution  or as a formula For details, see Common Chart Settings.
  9. Determine the data formatting and labels:
    • You can change the label and the format by clicking the Dictionary  icon (see Date, Time and Number Formatting).
    • If a text is entered in the Label field, then this label will be shown. Otherwise the default value will be used.
  10. Determine how the data is aggregated.
    1. Select the Aggregation By from the drop-down list. E.g., when Customer is selected, each dot on the chart represents a customer.
    2. You can also activate banding by using the Band By option.

(warning) If you select the same value as Aggregation By, the points are colored differently. If you choose a different value, the data is aggregated in addition to this value. For example, if you select customer class in the Band By field, each dot represents a combination of customer class (e.g., "A") and the customer (for example, "Müller GmbH").

(warning) Only data fields marked as Dimension can be selected for aggregation and banding.
  11. You can have the Band by color code displayed below the measures and in the chart by checking Show Band by Legend.

  12. (Optional) Click the Add Data Series  icon at the top of the Series 1 tab (details) in order to compare with other data series. There is no limit to the number of series that can be compared.

  13. Click the Refresh  icon to update the chart.

  14. (Optional) Create an Aggregation filter that allows you to filter the Datamart query results, i.e., to determine, which values will be shown in the chart.
  15. You can print or download the chart as image (*.png, *.jpeg), document (*.pdf) or vector image (*.svg) by clicking the Context  icon at the top right.
