Pricefx Classic UI is no longer supported. It has been replaced by Pricefx Unity UI.

Plasma

Plasma is a big data pricing insights machine – combining a massive amount of anonymized transaction and quoting data from more than ten industries, sliced and segmented by region, product type, and other factors, finally compiled into a set of 20+ pricing performance benchmarks, delivered in intuitive visual outputs – designed to answer the most important pricing analytics questions.

How it works:

  • Pricefx gathers, anonymizes, and aggregates its customers’ data into standardized metrics.
  • Pricefx loads these metrics into the Plasma platform, which aggregates and filters the metrics further to create industry-level benchmarks.
  • The resulting benchmarks are distributed into a datamart on customer’s partition. Customer can view these benchmarks through the standard Pricefx dashboard that Pricefx will deploy. Customers can also include this data in their own dashboards, allowing for a direct comparison between their company and the benchmark.

Configuration

In Pricefx, a Plasma implementation will typically use the following components:

  • Data Feeds
  • Data Sources
  • Data Loads
  • Datamarts
  • Company Parameters tables

Plasma-specific components can be hidden from regular users with the help of user roles. Users with the Plasma role can mark these components as Plasma objects. Once marked, these objects are displayed only to Plasma users and only Plasma users can edit and delete them.

To mark components as Plasma objects:

  1. Go to Administration > Configuration > Analytics > Plasma.
  2. Look up the desired component and tick the Use with Plasma checkbox.
After your selection, the component is checked for any dependencies it might have (e.g., between a Data Load and a Data Feed). If there are any dependent components that are not marked as Plasma objects, a warning is displayed and the configuration is not saved.
  3. Before saving the configuration, look for items with the 'Inconsistency on Server' flag and fix the issues.
