Customers

In the Customers section you can define and maintain customer attributes. Attributes are information in a one-to-one relationship (e.g. customer hierarchy or customer classification). The attributes can be used for price calculations or just additional information (e.g. in customer price lists or if the user picks a customer).

Customer Hierarchy

You can organize the list of customers into hierarchical logical groups. When you add a customer to the tree, you can decide whether you want to make the customer a parent in the tree, i.e. you intend to add child customers to it (in that case the customer will be visible in the tree) or whether the customer will be on the lowest level in the hierarchy with no further children (therefore not visible in the tree).

You can reference the hierarchy in the API (get attribute value from parent) but you will typically use attributes like Customer Group to build and work with customer hierarchy.

Editing Options

When working the Customers table, you have all of the standard table options available. 

The specific options are:

  • Add a new customer. Enter a 'Customer ID' and 'Customer Name'.
  • View/edit details  of a selected customer. The detailed view which opens has the same options as the Product Detail View in the Default View mode. 
  • Copy  a customer. 
  • Delete   a customer.
  • Mass edit  all, filtered or selected fields. Select the 'Field' (column), the 'Operator' and the 'Value' which will be applied to the operator.
  • Mass delete  all, filtered or selected customers.
  • Download  the list of customers into an Excel file.
  • Toggle filter  to filter the customers (for details see Filter Records).
  • See change history  (last changes you made in the current session).

(tick) To modify/add the customer data, you can also use the Excel Client. 

Customer Attributes

By default the following details are available:

  • Customer Text – Display of text and pictures.
  • Customer Assignment – Display of all price lists (Manual Price Lists, Price Lists and Live Price Grids) which are assigned to that customer (or group in which the customer is part of).
  • Customer Quotes – All Quotes of that customer.
  • Customer Agreements/Promotions – All Agreements/Promotions of the customer.
  • Customer Rebate Agreements – All Rebate Agreements for that customer.
  • Change Requests – All requests changes of the customer data for that customer.
  • Price Records – Overview of all price records for that customer.
  • Customer Turnover – Charts and data of the turnover for that customer.

Beside these attributes additional details can be managed in the customer master (see Customer Extensions).
