Server and Hardware
Hardware resources (CPU, disk space etc.) are actively being monitored by Pricefx Support team. There is nothing to be configured by the Solution team. Whenever there is a hardware resource issue, it is addressed transparently. The CEs or customers do not have access to the monitoring tools used by Support.
Monitoring of all Server and Data Center infrastructure is managed by our hosting partners, Pricefx is informed about outages and service degradation.
The database generates a lot of performance metrics that can be viewed in real-time by Pricefx Support and Engineering teams. Log history is kept for 50 days.
See /wiki/spaces/SUP/pages/24084778 (Pricefx employees only).
Pricefx Core Application
Health of the Pricefx application is monitored by frequent login attempts, both from internal and external applications, resulting in uptime reports.
See /wiki/spaces/SUP/pages/24084778 (Pricefx employees only).
Jobs (Data Loads, Calculated Field Sets, Price Grids etc.)
The Data Load jobs are not monitored by Support team.
Monitoring of Job Status Tracker jobs is done in Pricefx PlatformManager. During the handover of the project, the Solution Architect or Configuration Engineer should set up PlatformManager notifications to alert development team resource (identified by Project Manager) and the member of the customer team (who will be responsible after GO LIVE).
See how to create notifications in PlatformManager.
IntegrationManager Instances
Monitoring of IntegrationManager instances is done in Pricefx PlatformManager.
IM instances are actively monitored by Pricefx Integration Team.
Alerts are generated if data exchange is not successful or the import data is in different format than expected.
During the handover of the project, the Solution Architect or Configuration Engineer should set up PlatformManager notifications to alert development team resource (identified by Project Manager) and the member of the customer team (who will be responsible after GO LIVE).
See how to create notifications in PlatformManager, how monitoring works in IntegrationManager and how to set up monitoring (Pricefx employees only).
Custom Dashboards
If none of the above strategies works for you, you can consider Pricefx reporting capabilities. In the Analytics module, you can create a Data Source holding the metric you want to monitor. You can then create a custom dashboard displaying the metrics (e.g. in a chart). You can also consider creating a Calculation Flow that regularly checks the Data Source with the metric and sends an email to addresses defined in a Company Parameters table.
