This is a quick overview of X-Ray and how we employ it at Pricefx.

Overview

X-Ray is a test management tool in JIRA used by QA Analysts on Customer Solutions projects
Helps with documentation of test cases and test results
The tool is not free but it is a standard part of all new JIRA project configurations
Can be used by the customer for testing during Feature Sprints and during UAT
Needs simple configuration before it is used on the project - see below

Benefits

Created test cases are easily visible on the project and linked to correct user stories (Issue type: Test)
Testing progress can be easily monitored (Issue types: Test Plan and Test Execution)
Communication about testing can be easier now because all testing activities are clearly visible for PM and for the customer
UAT monitoring can be easier for us and for the customer

As X-Ray is a plug-in in JIRA, it needs a simple configuration which can’t be done automatically by IT department
The configuration is very simple and it will take about 1 minute
Just do the following steps or send a link to project board to Milan Poláček
Go to: Project Settings - > Apps - > Xray Settings
Set Test Coverage and Defect Mapping based on pictures below - note that you need to Save the configuration manually - Save button is at the bottom of the page
