In this how-to guide you'll be looking at the options of exporting dashboard and chart data from Pricefx Dashboards.
Exporting is a simple, but powerful function that allows you to export the data, from Data Tables or image files from charts directly from a Dashboard. 
So whether you need the image files for a presentation deck or the table data for further analysis, exporting from dashboards is one way to do it.
If you have a specific need for chart data, however, then you'll need to use the export functionality from the Analytics, Data Analyzer menu instead, but here we'll stick to exporting from Dashboards. The functionality is very similar, but exporting from Charts is covered in the Analytics section of the Knowledge base.

Selecting the Dashboard
So to begin, you navigate to the Dashboard menu and select the chart that you wish to export. In this case, you're selecting the Quote Win/Loss Metric Dashboard.
To begin with, ensure that you have the pre-set filters the way you want them and the data displayed is correct.

Then to export everything simply click on the Export to Excel button and a window pops up with the options for export.
You can select to export individual components of the dashboard or export all of them, click on the Export button. 
Here you’re going to leave it as is and export all of it, and you can see that exports the Excel file for you to view. So you're going to click on the Open file on the top-right corner to open it.
Once the Excel file has been opened you can see the exported data. The charts are displayed as images and the data tables as data. You can see them by clicking on the tabs at the bottom of the Excel file.

Higherhigher Resolution Images
But perhaps you want the images a little sharper for your presentation or you want to export only one of the components of the dashboard, so let's look at how to do that.
Dashboards are simply a collection of portlets, each with its own settings, so you have the ability to hover over the settings for a portlet to display more options for just that portlet.
Let's look at the settings options for the Region Line Chart. Here you can see that you have the option to Export to Excel again.
This is an easy way to export just this chart without having to make any additional selection.
But we also have the additional option to open this chart in a dialog window. If you click on this, a new window pops up, displaying the chart across the full window. 
If you now export the chart to Excel, it now exports the larger, clearer image that you can use when you need something with a higher resolution
It's now exported again to Excel and you're going to open the file. So you can see the larger image, with much better resolution.
If you right-click on that, you can save it as a picture, which saves it as an image file that you can use in your presentations and so forth.
Let's do a quick side by side comparison, here's the first Region Line Chart, and yes, you could stretch this, but it loses the quality as you stretch it, whereas if you go to the new one, it's got far, far better resolution than the initial one.
