Introduction
In this tutorial we'll be exploring condition types for Agreements and Promotions in Pricefx.
Condition Types are the building blocks of Agreements & Promotions. Each line item in an Agreement/Promotion contract is of a specific Condition, or Discount Type, which defines how the contract is calculated and whether or not additional pre-configured fields are added for you to input information or parameters that provide data to aid the calculation.
Navigate to Condition Types in Pricefx
Let's have a look at a few examples within the system.
On the Agreements and Promotions Menu, navigate to Condition Types to be presented with a full list of condition types that you have access to edit or view.
Different Types of Condition Type
Here you can see the various Condition or Discount Types that we have set up in our Demo system. Your organization will have their own and so it will appear different.
...
Name is a unique identifier of the particular discount and is always presented with no spaces.
Label is the value that you will see when you select the agreement or promotion line item when setting up a contract. When created this will be a descriptive name of your choice, or at least that of the team that implement the system for you.
Pricing Logic this field provides inputs and calculates the results of the Agreement/Promotion line item of this type. The pricing logic is configured by a specialist and if you need to understand more about specific pricing logics it is worth reaching out to your administration team or reviewing your organizational documentation.
Waterfall Element – Indicates which field (of a Quote or Data
mart) is influenced by this Agreement/Promotion condition. This can be used, for example, in simulating the effect of a particular Condition Type on forecasted sales and the result can then be displayed in a waterfall chart.
User Group (Edit) – Sets which user groups can edit the settings. For details see Entitlement Concept.
User Group (View Details) – Sets which user groups can see the settings. For details see Entitlement Concept.
